Orders, Shipping & Delivery FAQs

Answers to common questions about placing an order, shipping timelines, tracking, returns, and customer support

How long will it take my order to ship?

All US orders over $50 receive free carbon neutral shipping and will ship in 1-3 business days from the date of payment via USPS Ground Advantage with a tracking number. All US orders under $50 are offered USPS Ground Advantage, UPS Ground Saver and FedEx Ground rates.

If you would like to upgrade your shipping, you may select USPS Priority Mail, UPS or FedEx options for an extra fee. You may receive shipping updates via our platform provider, Shopify.

International customers can select between USPS First Class International, DHL, or UPS at checkout. For additional international shipping options, please reach out to us.

Please see our Shipping Policy for full details.

How do you package your shipments?

All orders are packaged with protective material to ensure they arrive safely. We try to reuse and recycle as much shipping material as possible, so from time to time, your order may have a bit of extra tape or different paper filler. If you prefer not to receive recycled shipping materials, please add a note to your order.

Do you have sales?

We hold sales periodically throughout the year - including our once-a-year Seconds Sale, which helps us reduce waste created in our small batch production process. To find out about our sales, make sure you subscribe to our email newsletter.

What if I ordered the wrong item?

Please contact us at hello@erleia.com within 2 hours of placing your order.

How do I change or cancel my subscription?

You can manage your subscription at any time by logging into your account here, or by using the link in your original subscription confirmation email.

Your initial subscription order counts as your first billing cycle, and subscriptions may only be canceled after the second billing cycle. We offer a subscription discount to thank customers who are committing to ongoing self-care with Erleia, and we ask that subscriptions be started with that intention in mind.

As a small, independent, woman-owned business, subscription commitments help us plan production thoughtfully and reduce waste. We truly appreciate your understanding and support.

If you need help changing or updating your subscription, please email us at hello@erleia.com.

What's your return policy?

We accept returns for refund within 14 days of delivery. All sales are final on international orders and sale items. Please see our Return Policy for full details.

Product Expiration Dates & Storage Guidelines

Learn how long Erleia products last, where to find expiration dates, and how to store them safely for best results.

How long do Erleia products last?

You’ll find an expiration date (also called a "Best By" or "BB" date) and an open jar symbol on your packaging. That symbol has a number followed by “M” (for months), so if it says “12M,” your product is good for 12 months after opening.

Help! My balm or bar is grainy and feels icky to apply.

Occasionally our balms will get grainy if they are exposed to extreme temperatures or temperature fluctuations in transit or storage. This is a natural occurrence for the plant-based butters, like cocoa butter and shea butter, in our formulas. The texture change does not affect its quality or effectiveness.

To 'fix' the graininess, you can gently heat the balm in the microwave (we recommend doing so in a microwave safe bowl or dish) in short bursts until the top layers soften or melt slightly. Then, place the balm in the fridge to set before using again.

Are Erleia skincare products really handcrafted?

Yes, all of our skincare products are handcrafted in Denver, Colorado and Tucson, Arizona. We know that what you put on your skin matters, so in our mixing process, we follow the highest hygiene and safety protocols.

Are Erleia products safe for pregnancy?

All of our products are non-toxic and safe to use during and after pregnancy. Some of our formulas include essential oils at low percentages that will not induce labor. We recognize everyone’s bodies and sensitivities are unique, especially during pregnancy, and it’s always a good idea to consult with your doctor.

What’s in Erleia skincare products? Where can I find allergen information?

Each product page includes a full ingredient list. If you have allergies or sensitivities, please review it carefully—and if you're unsure, reach out. We’re happy to help.

How do I wash my tools and accessories?

For mixing bowls and spoons: Hand wash with water and soap. Avoid using harsh materials to scrub, as this may damage the items. Let air dry. Do not soak.

How do I dispose of empty Erleia packaging?

We do our part to make things eco-friendly, and we appreciate you doing yours.

  • Tubes: Made of paper and will break down in the solid waste stream (not recyclable).
  • Oil Bottles: Reuse if you can. If not, peel off the label, compost or trash the bottle, trash the rubber bulb, and recycle the rest.
  • Boxes: Fully recyclable with your curbside recycling.

Choosing the Right Products for Your Skin Concerns

Explore Erleia skincare recommendations by skin type and concern, including dryness, breakouts, irritation, and barrier support

Can I mix and match formulas?

Definitely. Labels like “acne fighting” or “anti-aging” are just guiding points, feel free to combine whatever works best for your skin. It’s your routine, your rules.

Can I travel with Erleia products?

Yes! Our solid bars and powder cleansers are TSA-friendly and perfect for packing light. If you’re traveling with oils, make sure the dropper cap is closed tightly and tuck them in a reusable bag, just in case.

Can I use lotion bars on my face?

Lotion bars are designed for body care and may be too heavy for most facial routines. The coconut oil in our lotion bars is deeply moisturizing, but it can feel occlusive on the face—especially for acne-prone or sensitive skin.

If you do use a lotion bar on your face, apply a very small amount by warming it between your fingers and gently pressing it into the skin. For regular facial use, we recommend products formulated specifically for the face.

Will your products break me out?

Our products are made with acne-prone skin in mind, but everyone’s skin is unique. We suggest introducing one product at a time and seeing how your skin reacts. Slow and steady is a solid strategy.

Won’t oils make my skin more oily?

No — the right oils can actually help balance oily skin. When skin is too dry, it may produce excess oil to compensate. Lightweight, well-formulated oils can support the skin barrier and help regulate oil production rather than increase it.

I’m overwhelmed. Do you have a routine guide?

Yes. We recommend starting with three basics: cleanse, moisturize, and SPF.

Once your skin feels stable, you can add or adjust products based on your specific needs. Keeping your routine simple is often the most effective approach.

What if my skin starts to feel irritated?

Stop using the product right away. If the irritation doesn’t seem allergy-related, you can try reintroducing products one at a time to identify the cause. Our formulas are made with gentle ingredients, but every skin type reacts differently.
